Iphone Notes Sync Mobileme

Will synchronize an iPhone 3G a new computer to delete more than music (such as text messages, notes)?

I understand that the synchronization will replace my music and photos, if I just check the boxes, but my contacts, text messages, notes and calendar remain untouched? I do use MobileMe or anything on the computer to edit contact information and calendar. I want to do a full sync, but I need to make sure that this only affects the music and photos. I transferred all my music from my old computer to my new. I'm just worried about losing contacts and text messages.
