How do I transfer files from my PC to my phone via Bluetooth?

OS: Vista Phone: LG Lotus have Bluetooth on both, and have tried to send files and for both devices. I accept the transfer and then it says "File transfer not successful. This Bluetooth device or the computer can not handle this type of file. "Any idea how to solve this?

whether the memory is full, the phone and if not for that I would try another file I would try to JPEG photos and MP3 music to be neither of which I could not be more sorry for an audience than I would buy cable reckommend
