IPhone 3Gs hero vs HTC (scheduled to Verizon)?

I have the option to get the right iPhone 3Gs now or stay with Verizon and get the next HTC hero. This is pretty much what will make the phone goes … 1. Texting is a great part 2. Calls are not great, but when I'm in home I can just tell them to call my home phone to get better reception. 3. I APPS are great for games I love to entertain me …. 4. The music is another thing very large 5. Battery life is important and should be able to last a day waiting for me. 6. Price ….. what should I go with? I want the iPhone for a couple of months, but since the news came hero I'm considering staying with Verizon …. hm what to do?
