Motorola Phones on Ebay

I need help to connect my Motorola RAZR V3i to PC to download ringtone.?

I recently bought an unlocked cell phone motorola v3i on eBay. I have Windows XP from Microsoft. When I try to connect my phone to the computer via USB cable, my pc will not recognize it. I tried to download various programs to get my hp pavilion zv6000 to recognize the phone. i just turn it on I have a signal to remove hardware, and that's it. I also installed the motorola mobile phone tools that came with the phone, but when I use MAGIX media manager and click on cell phone, he keeps telling me to call a cell phone to the computer .. I'm doing all this to get a touch that I did to my phone. >: / I just can not figure out how to get it to my phone. any help would be appreciated.

The v3i iTunes reads … has to be mpeg4 file format for transfer to your phone … In other words, the iPod format.
