The resolution, which is the new gold standard RIM is 480 × 360 and while you would not expect it to be better than the Post or Curve 8900 screen, it is. Images appear as if they were floating on top of the screen, blacks are black and colors are sharp and vibrant. There is a pretty decent sized black border around that will show all very similar to how the BlackBerry screen look Tour, and while people have moaned about this ad nauseum, it does not really phase us.

* OS:
The latest versions of Mac OS 5.0 (which was leaked to the existing devices, such as the 9530, 9630, Bold, 8900, etc.) show a slight update of the User Interface with more blues, gradients, icons and buttons update and even – * gasp * – kinetic scrolling on some devices. Here's where it gets a little tricky, however. AT & T BlackBerry 9700 evaluation units shipped with OS 5.0.0.169. The unit originally came with the OS and it worked magically. It is, however, has not been User Interface updated to OS 5.0 later builds contain. After upgrading our unit SO 5.0.0.215 (internal builds for 9700 are higher than, 249, we are told) is now in balance with the features and elements Sexified UI updates. Because we're going to this so deeply is because is a good chance that if AT & T's 9700 acceptance is without technical problems (not anticipate the same problems that plagued the release bold), version that will be sent to 9700 will be 5.0.0.169 or something close to it.
