How to fix the delays Env2 Verizon SMS?

Ok so my girlfriend has a Verizon enV2 and I have the BlackBerry Storm from Verizon. Here is our little problem. Like most of us would love doves text / call each other all the time. She has no problem texting me or anyone else. However, when the text or other people / call it there is a small matter. There will be random periods of time where your message will not reach your phone calls and often go to your phone. Then, after a period of 15 minutes to 4 hours the phone will magically get the messages from this period of time. Occasionally when texts get to her right away, but these delays are becoming more frequent. We went to Verizon 5 times, updated the firmware, got a replacement, to opened a trouble ticket twice without any success. So what I'm askingwhy that this is happening and how can I get Verizon to fix this? Or what should I do? My girlfriend has to stay on Verizon it can not switch to another phone company

I'm not with Verizon, but AT & T had problems like this and they always tell me to turn my phone off for a few minutes so when you turn it on it takes the next tower. Doing so always fixed my problems, but they tell me that it could be that the towers that I was currently using the text or calls were made were busy so I would not get them and then when they were not so busy, the texts that pass. I'm not sure if that is what is causing the problem, but you can turn the phone off and see if that helps. They say you're supposed to turn the phone off at least once a day to update anything and the towers so I do not know.
