Nokia recently launched its latest machine slider phones in the 5330 Nokia Mobile TV Edition MTVE. First unveiled in March as the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic the unit was scheduled for release in 3rd quarter, but was replaced with the TV receiver added.
Sporting the same sleek body style slider, the new Nokia 5330 gets revived to take advantage of DVB-H TV broadcasts, which are now fully deployed in many European countries. They include the Netherlands, Albania, Austria, Finland and Poland, with France and Spain, joining them soon. Russia is expected to install it next year in key cities. Outside Europe, fans of Nokia in Vietnam, parts of India and North African countries like Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya and Morocco can enjoy watching TV on their phones soon.
TV Features
It may take getting used to watching TV or video on your screen 2.4-inch QVGA, even when it started to display horizontal but it starts the job done with enough power. There is a specific set of keys on the body to channel scan and volume control. It has a program guide (ESG OMA BCASR) than can scan, find and update station broadcasts the channel. Availability
The device should be widely available in countries implementing the DVB-H TV broadcast in the first quarter 2010. Nokia has pegged its SIM-free at a price of 155 €. The package comes with a microSD slot to 1 GB and you have a choice of body colors black or white. This is certainly a bargain for a satellite phone and even as just a versatile entertainment device without it.
