Will this phone work in Canada? Sony Ericsson Xperia! Please Help me! ?

If I buy the Sony Ericsson Xperia in India … will it work Canada? I have a contract with Rogers with a rite LG Shine now and I do not like! I really want the Sony Ericsson Xperia … will it work if I put my Rogers sin card in the phone? Thank you! =)
