A brief look at O2

Originally released as BT Wireless/mmO2 in 2001, the company was later acquired by Telefonica Europe and re-branded as O2 (usually written with the index 2, to emulate the element oxygen). BT Wireless was a subsidiary of British Telecom, as part of BT, the company also operated the Genie service Internet also in the British Telecom.

Eventually, mmO2 plc, later renamed as O2 plc and would have established a number of countries across Europe, these included Esat Digifone, Viag Interkom, Telfort, Manx Telecom, O2 Airwave and the previously mentioned Genie Internet. Companies would also be renaming it the O2 branding more standardized system (Esat Digifone would O2 Ireland, O2 Viag Telekom would make Germany and so on). In 2006, Telefónica (Spain) would acquire the entire group O2.

For more standard pay monthly deals, O2 has a range 18 months and 24 months rates. Price to pay monthly deals range from 15 pounds up and there is a wide variety of devices that comes free with most of the deals (or more phones range at a level slightly lower retail prices).

O2 UK to users who opt to go to the month 24 pay monthly deal, there are a wide variety of mobile devices free to choose. Nokia, the 6700, 5800, N86 and 6600i Slide is currently available for applications ranging from 15 pounds to 30 pounds per month. The Nokia 5800 and 6600i offer promotions Slide O2 free calls to O2 to 20 pounds and 25 pounds per months, respectively. Grants 6700 to 15 pound per month to treat the users with unlimited messages.
