Sony Ericsson Phone Sync

I cannot seem to use my laptop to sync with my ipod. I'm using Vista Home Basic.?

I'm using Windows Vista and cannot seem to get my laptop to recognize my iPod via USB. I also had similar problems with the USB even when I tried to connect my Sony Ericsson phone to my laptop. How can I solve this problem? Help!

You mean the iPod will not appear in iTunes, or you mean it will not appear as an external hard drive? If you are referring to iTunes, you need the latest version of iTunes in order to use it with Vista – I have Vista Premium, and had many problems of compatibility between iTunes and Windows Vista at first, but all issues have been resolved for a long time now. If you are referring to the iPod showing up as an external hard drive, you need have iTunes installed and check the box that says "enable disk use" and click Apply. Once this has been done, should appear as an external hard drive in the future. If your USB port simply does not recognize it at all, that is. you do not receive any notification of the hardware connected, or you get the little noise that the signs of a device is connected, so I imagine that this is more likely to be a failure in port of your iPod, especially if you found the error in the same month with different hardware. I would try to connect your iPod to any USB port to eliminate the possibility of a bad port. Also, try connecting your iPod to another PC or laptop – for the same thing happens, then you'll know it's a fault with your iPod, then at least you have an idea what to do when you know where is the error.
