Sony Ericsson Phone Not Recognized

My computer is not recognizing my new phone when connected via the USB cable, what to do?

I recently bought a new brand Sony Ericsson W580i. I wanted to transfer music files that I download the software support SE. When I called the phone to the computer via the USB cable with the phone, it does not register with the computer that is plugged in. If applications are asking for your phone or memory card to be connected to what already is. Is frustrating. Can anyone please help?

There are many things to do before u can transfer files from your computer to your phone 1) install the software 2) not open any applications while the phone is connected to the PC 3) do not use the memory card while the phone is connected to the PC, if all things are done properly and if your PC does not detect your phone, then the problem is with the connector or USB port, but if the phone is connected and is not able to transfer something, then check ur phone and PC settings and reinstall the phone software.
