Should I wait for Android devices, or should I wait for a new iPod touch?

I need a device that can access the internet, play videos and act as a personal database where I can store, access and write information when traveling. Many people say that the iPhone is the way to go but I do not need the phone that I realized that since a new iPhone was going to be revealed soon, that would mean a new iPod touch will be released. But then I came across the new technology of Google Android and I was wondering if I should just wait to get out.
