A common technique I use to do a more professional look User Interface for filtering the data to a report in a database MS Access, you create a how to ask for criteria for the report. An example would be a report that is used to display data for a given period of time.

Step 1

Create a query to feed data to the report. Add any necessary
parameters (such as "between [start_date] and [end_date] "style) and test.

Step 2

Create the report using the query from step 1 as the record
source. Test report completely. Obviously, you have to
answer questions parameter manually, one at a time.

Step 3

Create a form with a text box to the start date and other
text box to the end date. Use the wizard to add a
button that will preview the report created in step 2.

Step 4

Change parameters consultation in this style:

Between [Forms]! [MyForm]! [TxtStartDate] and [Forms]! [MyForm]! [txtEndDate]

sure use the real names for the form "MyForm" and the text boxes "txtStartDate" and "txtEndDate.

That's it. And not was necessary to VBA coding.

(you may need to put some code behind the button that will check the values in the various fields before start the report, this would require VBA – you can also use a combo box to collect data for the criteria of the report)
