Recently, an increasing number of phones come with GPS and certain applications of satellite navigation and functionality; variety of HTC Artemis your package and TomTom Navigator software that is possibly the best equipped. This has obviously helped to highlight the fact that Sat-Nav is fast becoming an essential part of any kind of high-end multimedia. Nokia has even raised there own application for use in some of the N-series phones.
To date no was a device that is built from the ground for that purpose, but Garmin Giant have done just that with the Nuvifone.
In a range news sites and blog mobile, the Nuvifone has been appointed as a competitor to the iPhone, which is very surprising, but more so, than the appearances can believe.
This assumption is based on the touch screen of 3.5 inches, which as expected is the main method of using the phone in almost any situation. As this phone phone was not shown at first hand the industry officially, it is difficult to make any kind of opinion about the effectiveness of the User Interface, but it is as innovative as the iPhone was, things could get really interesting. We know that it is based on proven interface already in force of Garmin Nuvi system Sat-Nav.
Official specs are nigh-on-impossible to get hold of at the moment, but there are a few details sketched out at this time. The Garmin Nuvifone will have 3 different ways in which the use the device, which can be selected with a single touch the relevant option on the screen. The options are fairly self-explanatory – Telephone; Search & Navigation. The search option in case you're wondering is to find its own position, when lost, by choosing integrated search Google Local.
The Sat-Nav capabilities are also based on the Garmin Nuvi series of GPS receivers independent and are likely to be one of the best views in mobile phones capable of this.
Once more specific and specifications are available, we will have a better idea of how the Garmin Nuvifone will fit in the market, once released, but until then methinks it will be one to watch closely over the coming months.
