Htc Phones Mac

This is a basic guide to configure the wireless settings on HTC Hero (known as the MyTouch G2 customers T-Mobile). The Hero is an HTC machine of bandwidth hungry, help maintain the usage of mobile data below your cap acceptable use over Wi-Fi as much as possible.
First, you will need to ensure that your Wi-Fi is turned on – HTC has a widget to toggle WiFi on and off, if not already in one of their homescreens, is a very useful switch is worth adding. To add the widget – the press of a blank portion of your homescreen for a few seconds until the "Add to Home "menu. From here, choose" HTC Widget ", then" Settings "and touch" Wi-Fi. "This will allow you to add Wi-Fi switch to a widget of your homescreens. Hitting the switch will switch the Wi-Fi on and off, with current Wi-Fi is being displayed in the widget itself.
Ok, now that the Wi-Fi is turned on, the device should look for wireless networks nearby, if successful, you will receive an alert in the System Tray the top of the screen. Drag your finger down from the top of the screen to the bottom and the notification window opens. To connect to a network broadcast Wi-Fi, do the following:
-Either homescreens, tap the hard "Menu" then tap the Wi-Fi Settings "
-At the bottom, you should now see a list of wireless networks that were discovered (if any), to connect to one, put it on the screen
-If there is any security (WEP or WPA), you prompted to enter the relevant code and then you must be connected
-These measures should only need to be completed once your hero should automatically connect to Wi-Fi network the next time you're within reach
While connected to a Wi-Fi, the phone will use the Wi-Fi connection, rather their mobile data connection. However, it is worth recalling that when the hero goes to sleep in the sport, the Wi-Fi is turned off to save power, so any Internet connection that is needed during sleep mode (for example – scheduled to check e-mail or Twitter updates) will use the phone's standard data mobile. There is a method of preventing this from happening, which will be detailed later.
If the Wi-Fi network you want to connect is not broadcasting the SSID, you need to configure the connection manually. To do this: —
When the "Wi-Fi Settings section" at the bottom the screen is an option to "Add Wi-Fi. Tap this screen:
-You 'll then need to enter the correct SSID of the network and specify the security method (WEP, WPA, etc.)
-When the security method is selected, then you will be able to enter the code correct security for Wi-Fi network and you also have the opportunity to specify any other Wi-Fi settings as determined by your administrator network
-A Wi-Fi should be complete and in the future, your hero will automatically connect to this network with the settings you specified
There may be some unusual cases where a given point wireless access does not give out IP addresses via DHCP for all devices that connect to the network without wire needs to have a static IP address defined. These are the steps you need to take to specify a static IP:
-Hit the Menu button disk on your phone and then choose "Settings" From there, go to the controls "wireless" and then choose the section "Wi-Fi Settings"
-While the "Wi-Fi Settings" section, press the Menu button and select hard again " Advanced "
-Press "Use Static IP" to place a check in the box and enter the network settings on their own network (if you are not sure that your settings are (and assuming you're using Windows) to open a command prompt by clicking Start, Run and typing cmd and pressing enter and then type the command ipconfig-all and hit enter relevant information should be listed there. Just make sure use a different number for the IP address of the phone that is displayed on your PC!)
Now, one thing to keep in mind here is, you will not be able to connect to public wireless hotspots with a static IP set to all of them will use DHCP, and the chances of you specify the settings for static IP that work for both your home network and given any public hotspot are quite low. There seems to be no way to use an IP profile for a wireless network profile and a different IP to another, but if you uncheck the Static IP section, you will be able to get a DHCP IP and, fortunately, the previously defined settings static IP will be for when you return.
