This is a basic guide to configure the wireless settings on HTC Hero (known as the MyTouch G2 customers T-Mobile). The Hero is an HTC machine of bandwidth hungry, help maintain the usage of mobile data below your cap acceptable use over Wi-Fi as much as possible.

There seems to be no way to use an IP profile for a wireless network profile and a different IP to another, but if you uncheck the Static IP section, you will be able to get a DHCP IP and, fortunately, the previously defined settings static IP will be for when you return.
