Verizon Voyager: iPhone Killer?
Verizon Wireless on Wednesday have introduced four hot new phones for the holiday season of 2007, hoping frankly that there is a four is desirable enough to shift attention away from Apple's iPhone.
Verizon Voyager by LG sports a large screen touch outside and opens to reveal a keyboard.
Attracting the most attention on the Voyager is that it resembles the iPhone in several distinct ways. The Voyager is equipped an external touch screen that slides open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. This gives users a choice of how to access the phone, according to Verizon Wireless.
The keyboard is one advantage the Voyager has over the iPhone touch-screen design only. In addition, Verizon Wireless has a fast 3G network data that the Voyager will use to access the Internet. The iPhone does not employ 3G technology. Instead, it uses the AT & T Edge data network, slower alternative.
Icons the shortcut menu on the screen of the Voyager and touch the other set of icons at the bottom of the screen have a striking resemblance to the iPhone.
Voyager also comes with a set of multimedia capabilities including an HTML browser, V Cast from Verizon Wireless mobile TV, video and music service URGE, MP3 playback capability, as well as WMA and AAC.
For more media and file storage, the Voyager has a slot for microSD removable memory that can store up to 8 Gbytes of memory.
"The Apple iPhone shook things up. If you look closely at the iPhone, is only one telephone in one extraordinary package," said Jeff Kagan, an industry wireless and telecommunications.
"That's what this Verizon Wireless phone is doing. It is competing with iPhone in this segment of the mobile phone. He is the answer from Verizon to AT & T and Apple's iPhone. I hope Sprint, T-Mobile, and a variety of other companies – Large and small – to come out with their version. "
Programming Verizon Wireless season also includes the Venus by LG, the Juke by Samsung, and BlackBerry Pearl 8130 by Research In Motion.
Verizon Wireless has not yet let the buying public know when the Voyager will be available, but analysts industry are hoping the Voyager to be in stores before Thanksgiving.

I was comparing phones on the Verizon page Wireless that are compatible with my current plan. I have an LG Chocolate VX8550. Has mobile Web. Now, in the letter, I saw that the curve does not support mobile Web. This means the extra cost of the web browser to use? I have to pay something like $ 30 to use it? I currently pay $ 5 extra for the mobile web on my chocolate. $ 30 per month?
The Blackberry Curve at Verizon Wireless does not use the mobile web. Blackberry has a browser. It will cost $ 29.99 for a BlackBerry unlimited package.
